Requirements

PURPOSE

To honor the life of Christian James Mazzariello by making scholarships to help aspiring computer scientists excel in technology and become leaders in the field.


DEADLINE for scholarship applications is February 1.

  1. Refer to criteria below for eligibility requirements.
  2. Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed.
  3. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  4. If any question does not apply to you in this application, please put N/A in the space.
  5. Type or print legibly. Illegible applications will not be considered.
  6. You will be notified by mail or email in June regarding the status of your application.

CRITERIA

An applicant must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have a financial need
  2. Be a US citizen
  3. Preferably someone in the LGBTQ community
  4. Intends to seek a degree in Computer Science and Engineering or similar major at a four-year accredited college or university
  5. Is unrelated to any Trustee or any family member of a Trustee
  6. Scholarship is only to be used for Qualified Educational Expenses; that is, tuition and fees

PROCESS

Applicant must submit the following items:

  1. Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)
  2. Two reference letters from teacher, guidance counselor, mentor, etc.
  3. Proof of college acceptance
  4. Most recent official high school transcript
  5. Personal essay
  6. Filed copy of "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" ( FAFSA)
  7. Deadline for the application is February 1.

AWARD COMPONENTS

One $25,000 will be awarded annually selected by the fund's Trustees.

The Scholarship can be renewed up to three years, provided:

  1. Financial need has not changed significantly
  2. The student maintains matriculated status
  3. The student maintains a C + or better (or its equivalent) GPA.
  4. Additional $5,000 scholarships can be issued at the discretion of the Trustees.
